Preventing the American Reich from Controlling the World

The most radical and profound research on what became the takeover of the U.S. Government by a fascist, neo-Nazi, nuclear militaristic Republican Party, in 2000- was published in 1996, four years before the takeover. It goes deeper than politics, ideology and nuclear militarism. It is a landmark theory of the cause of violence, by James Gilligan, M.D. The book title is: Violence; Reflections on a National Epidemic. Gilligan's theory of violence ultimately finds that violence is the fatal flaw of civilization itself, as it is constituted now. He states that "There is a deep and tragic paradox about civilization. On the one hand, it has been, up to now, the most life-enhancing innovation the human species has created....But the paradox is that civilization has also increased both the level of violence, and the scale of the human potential for violence, far beyond anything that any pre=civilized human culture had done....The task confronting us is to see whether we can end the tragic (violent) element of civiliation while maintaining its life-enhancing aspects."
